Rare Phra Pidta amulet

This rare Phra Pidta amulet from Wat Prasat is made of a type of clay called "Lang Meng," a mixture of sacred powders from Wat Rakhang and Somdej Bang Khun Phrom. It is in excellent condition. This amulet is from the Wat Prasat Bunyavawas series in Bangkok, dating back to 2506 BE (1963 CE). It was created by "Phra Kru Samuh Amphon," the former abbot of Wat Prasat, between 2505-2509 BE (1962-1966 CE). The mixture includes sacred powders from Wat Rakhang, which he painstakingly gathered from numerous revered monks, along with fragments of countless old, broken amulets, both from ancient temples and renowned masters. In particular, it contains fragments of the "Somdej Bang Khun Phrom New Grut" (newly unearthed by the temple in 2500 BE (1957 CE), of which there were many crates. It is said that the Wat Prasat amulet contains more fragments of Somdej Bang Khun Phrom than the Somdej Bang Khun Phrom 09 amulet. Over 200 revered monks participated in the consecration ceremony at Wat Prasat, so many that they couldn't all fit inside the main temple hall and had to sit outside with sacred threads connecting them to the amulets. That ceremony was considered the grandest and most sacred consecration of sacred objects since the consecration of amulets celebrating the 25th Buddhist Century. The consecration involved more than 200 revered monks, so many that the amulets overflowed from the temple's main hall. This was a Buddhist consecration ceremony.
